A Little Writing About Me

I am a highly
creative individual who has the ability to visualize the scope of
your project, while never losing focus of the important
details. My goals are your
goals. I deliver quality work on time and on
budget, ensuring that your projects remain on
schedule. I am a motivated self-starter and an
excellent problem
solver.
I began to write at the age of five, using
my family as characters in her first epic novel, "The Rabbit
Family”. Although never formally published, the
single, handwritten and self-illustrated copy of “The Rabbit
Family” did make appearances at the local school, grocery store,
bowling alley and bridge club meetings, courtesy of an enthusiastic
Mother and her large purse. I am grateful
to my family for allowing me to develop my
imagination and creative flair without
ever passing
judgement. I realize at times this
must have been difficult.
Recognizing the need for some formal
training; I gained a Combined Honours
Degree in English and History from the University of Western
Ontario. Upon graduation, I joined Dixie Lee,
St. Thomas, eventually rising to the position of
Vice-President. At Dixie Lee, I
- Developed and instituted a direct mail and
print ad campaign, handling both the design and copy duties that
boosted sales 35% over a two year period.
- Researched and developed numerous new
products and business opportunities for the company, again
providing all the copy and design for the subsequent ad
campaigns.
- Supervised all aspects of customer
relations and handled a staff of
ten.
My first fiction
novel was published in January of 2008 and my second
is nearing completion as well. I have skill and
experience in every stage of the writing
process. From brainstorming, to research, to
drafting and final edits, I can take your project where it needs to
go. I've also studied at the Children's Institute of
Literature.
